Timber is an organic material which makes it a natural living product. It can therefore change over time by moving in shape causing cracks and splits to develop. Minor imperfections such as colour variations and uneven surfaces are all natural characteristics of solid real timber

The ageing of the sideboard really depends on the environmental factors surrounding it. Being a natural living product, gradual changes are inevitable. Each sideboard will also vary in colour, grains and knots, therefore each timber piece should be appreciated for its uniqueness. This is what makes timber such a stunning and special material to use for furniture.

Avoid placing the sideboard in bright and lit up areas, always ensure the curtains and blinds are lowered to avoid any harsh heat from getting to the sideboard from direct sunlight. Avoid areas that have heaters or air conditioning. We recommend dusting the sideboard frequently and cleaning spills immediately with a damp cloth to avoid stains that can become stubborn if left for a long period of time. Do not using harsh and abrasive cleaning chemicals.

Wipe the spills by blotting it, this will help to avoid the liquid from rubbing into the grain. Wipe the spills the same way as the grain, avoid wiping against it. We recommend rotating any accessories that are left on the sideboard for a long period of time to avoid any colour variations on the surface. Always use placemats and coasters for anything hot or wet. Avoid placing sharp objects onto the sideboard which can cause dents and scratches, we recommend using floor stoppers underneath accessories to protect the sideboard.

Clean legs with a well wrung microfibre cloth. Do not use chemicals or sprays to clean the table or legs.
